This project is intended to examine the possibility of performing a feasibility study in Region Västra Götaland. For research scientists, this would provide the opportunity to identify, at an early stage, suitable patient candidates for a research project, and where they are located.
A feasibility study establishes the viability of a research project; how difficult it will be to recruit patients for the project, as well as the scope and extent of resources required. This provides a sound basis for deciding whether or not to proceed with a research project.
The pilot project for "Protocol Feasibility" has just begun and is scheduled to be finalised in 2009.
The project group is currently investigating what data sources are available, how a feasibility study should be carried out and what obstacles could obstruct this kind of investigation within Region Västra Götaland.
