Neighbourhood

Cooperation with our Scandinavian neighbours has a long and strong tradition. The various collaborations aim both to strengthen the area’s attractiveness and remove obstacles between our countries. Region Västra Götaland has agreements of friendship and cooperation with the county council of Østfold in Norway and Region Nordjylland in Denmark, this cooperation dates back to the 1940s.

Here you can read more about the partnerships and organizations in that Region Västra Götaland participates in.

The Göteborg-Oslo cooperation was established in 1995 and works to strengthen the position of the region in relation to other regions in Europe. The cooperation focuses on communications and transport, culture and tourism, business and education.
