- 49 times better!

The goal of the Environmental Health Collaboration Västra Götaland (Miljösamverkan Västra Götaland or MVG for short) is to support the local authorities and help environmental health work become more efficient. The project has proven to be democratic and cost efficient, offering great potential for municipalities to join efforts for better results.

Joint efforts for great results

To help environmental health professionals rrun projects locally, MVG provides guidelines and useful materials such as

  • legislative summaries
  • checklists
  • sample letters
  • fact sheets for business owners
  • advice on legal action

The campaigns

The campaigns or projects are based on the needs of the municipalities, for example

  • noise in public places
  • waste handling
  • indoor climate
  • waste water treatment systems
  • pesticide use

The collaboration project

The project is jointly financed by the Västra Götaland County Administration, the four Regional Associations of Local Authorities - who represent the 49 municipalities throughout the region - and Region Västra Götaland.

N.B. Region Västra Götaland is not a supervisory authority! Supervision in compliance with the Environmental Code is exercised by the County administrator and the local environmental health offices in the 49 municipalities.
