The Regional Executive Board is appointed by the Regional Council and consists of fifteen full-time members representing all major parties in the council. The Regional Executive Board is the regional government, responsible for ongoing activities, for example the use of certain funds set aside in the budget and major investments.
The Regional Executive Board has three committees and three drafting committees:
- the Health and Medical Care Committee
- (ägarutskottet)
- the Human Resources Committee
- the Research and Development Committee
- the International Relations Drafting Committee
- the Sustaiable Development Drafting Committee
All members of committees and drafting committees are politically appointed.
