The unit for Analysis and Evaluation's assignment is to provide a basis of knowledge on which to base programmes and initiatives for growth and development. This includes analysis of development trends, provision of relevant basic facts, follow-up and assessment of regional contributions to development. Areas of priority monitor the state of the market and the labour market, growth and structural issues and the economic geography. Regional scenarios are another field of operation as a basis for assessments of the future and prognoses.
Better conditions for analyses and assessments are created through systematic follow-up. Learning is important for the complete concept of development and change in Västra Götaland. It is about learning in our own organisation and in unison with other actors and interested parties. The process contains development of the system to follow-up and assess and new patterns of dialogue/meeting-places for knowledge communication.
