Measles outbreak

A minor measles outbreak happened in Gothenburg between December 2017 and January 2018. The outbreak is since then contained and no more cases have been identified. However it's important to always pay attention to symptoms of measles since it's a highly contagious viral infection.

If you're showing symptoms of measles, please call the health advice hotline 1177. for information and consultation. The first symptoms are high fever, a severe cough and red eyes, followed by a rash.

Please do not visit your health center (vårdcentral) or the emergency room without calling 1177 first. Measles is a highly contagious viral infection, and you may spread it to others in the waiting room.
