From Brussel to Borås – biodiversity and circularity in focus.
Over the past few days, Borås has brought together local, regional, and national stakeholders from across Europe to discuss how we can jointly tackle climate challenges and accelerate the green transition.
This year’s theme for the conference From Brussels to Borås was biodiversity and circularity – with a particular emphasis on how EU decisions can be implemented in our regions, municipalities, and at the national level. A recurring message was the importance of courageous leadership in driving the transition forward.
One of the highlights, among many, was that ENCORE – a European cooperation for environment, climate, and sustainable development – adopted its declaration focusing on biodiversity, circularity, and climate action.
“With this declaration, we highlight the ENCORE network and the role of Europe’s regions in the work on biodiversity, circularity, and climate action. It is crucial for people, nature, and the economy that we transition – and it must happen now,” said Madeleine Jonsson (Green Party), Chair of ENCORE.
