Before your visit
At Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde there is an ATM in the entrance hall. At the other hospitals it is possible to take out cash at the restaurants and cafeterias.
If you are not satisfied with the care you are receiving, you can get in touch with a hospital coordinator to put forward your complaints and views.
All staff at the hospital are subject to a duty of confidentiality and as a patient you are protected by the confidentiality rules.
As a patient, you should feel secure in the thought that no information about your state of health or personal circumstances will be passed on to anyone else. We only provide information about patients over the telephone if you as a patient have granted your consent to do so.
As a rule, you are entitled to read your medical records.
Salong Hårvården is located in the entrance hall of Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde. The salon is open Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. The telephone number is 0500-43 66 00.
In the entrance hall of Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde and Lidköping there is a desk where Red Cross assistants provide guidance. The assistants will help you to find your way around the hospital and they can also provide information about public transport and other matters.
The assistants in Skövde are on duty Monday to Thursday, 7.30am – 2.30 pm, and Friday 8am – 11.30am. In Lidköping, the assistants are on duty Monday to Thursday, 9am – 3pm.
There are no assistants on duty during the summer.
Hospital Church/Hospital Imam
The Hospital Church and Hospital Imam offer individual discussions on human thoughts and reflections.
The Hospital Church can also function as a calm, peaceful environment for contemplation and spiritual reflection, and can mediate contact with other religions and beliefs.
To ensure a safe and secure environment at the hospital, there are regulations that must be followed.
The hospital staff can, if necessary, help to arrange an interpreter for you. The best way of doing this is to tell the staff when you make your appointment. If you come to the hospital on an emergency basis, the staff at the emergency department will help to arrange an interpreter.
There is a Pressbyrån kiosk at Skaraborg Hospital in Skövde. The opening hours are Monday to Friday, 6.30am – 8pm, Saturday 9am – 7pm, and Sunday 9am – 8pm.
There is a kiosk in the restaurant at Skaraborg Hospital in Mariestad. It is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3pm. Closed for lunch 12.30pm – 1pm.
There is a library at our hospitals in Lidköping and Skövde. You can receive help to find information about diagnoses and treatment methods.
Mobile phone, computer tablet and computer
If you wish to use a mobile phone, computer tablet or computer, make sure you check to see if they are permitted in the department you are visiting.
Parking for visitors is available at all our hospital sites. You can pay using a debit card, coins or via a mobile telephone.

If you incur costs for travelling to receive care, part of your travel costs will be refunded.
Do not use perfumed products when you are at the hospital. You should also avoid bringing flowers.
There is a pharmacy at all four hospitals – Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad and Skövde.
Restaurants and cafeterias
There are restaurants and cafeterias at all four hospitals. You can choose the dish of the day as well as snacks and simple lunch dishes.
Information about the choice of food and opening hours
The hospital has several places to eat, as well as a pharmacy and other services for patients and visitors.
Skaraborg Hospital is a non-smoking hospital. The smoking ban applies both indoors and outdoors throughout the whole of the hospital area and on all the hospital sites.
At Skaraborg Hospital in Falköping, Lidköping and Skövde, storage boxes are available in the entrance hall. You can use the storage boxes to store your personal belongings securely. The boxes are only intended for temporary storage.
Taking photographs and filming
If you wish to take photographs or film inside the hospital, you will need permission from the clinic or department in question. Taking photographs and filming at the hospital is generally not permitted.
In certain hospital buildings, you can access the Internet free of charge using our wireless network. Connect your computer, computer table or smartphone to the VGR Publikt network if you would like to use the Internet.
